Grace Believers and Conspiracy Theories

Many, like myself, find conspiracy theories interesting.  The Bible certainly teaches that conspiracies do occur: "And they were more than forty which had made this conspiracy" (Acts 23:13).  I like to read about Bigfoot and UFO sightings.  Some believe the government is covering up the truth about theses things.  There are many other conspiracy theories that involve politics, science, medicine, etc.  I am not against being curious about these things, but the grace believer must be careful not to become entangled in things he is not sure of.  Many have given Bible prophecy a bad name by promoting theories as facts, when these "facts" never really happened as predicted.  I still remember many promoting the Y2K theory of computer disaster that would result in the world coming to an end as we know it.  Some connected this conspiracy with Bible prophecy and thus ended up giving Bible prophecy a bad name when the disaster never happened.  Of course there were many books sold in 1999 by so called "Bible-believers" on this subject and many dollars were made as a result.  We must be very careful about reading too much into conspiracy theories and current events.  As grace believers we are to follow 2 Timothy 3:14 KJV — "But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;"

The only things that grace believers should absolutely promote are the sure things found in the Bible, and specifically the things Paul taught us in his epistles.
