There is a Difference between Law and Grace

For those that think there is no difference between the dispensations of law and grace just consider the subject of diet in the Bible.  In Leviticus 11 there is an entire list of animals that cannot be eaten under the law.  The Bible says some animals are an "abomination" several times in that chapter.  Not only is the word "abomination" used, the word "unclean" is also used in reference to the animals that God did not allow those under the law to eat.  For example, Lev. 11:29 states, "These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind."  The below picture is not technically a "tortoise," for it is actually a snapping turtle in Georgia that I saw walking at the pond behind the house I grew up in.  According to Britannica the tortoise and the snapping turtle belong to the same order called "Testudines or Chelonia."  At any rate these were considered unclean and an abomination to eat under the law.  My dad used to catch these snapping turtles and I have actually eaten fried snapping turtle.  For a "country boy" like me I thought it was very tasty.

Since according to the law I have eaten unclean meat that was an abomination to God, am I in trouble with God under grace.  I have actually heard some preachers say "if it was an abomination in the Old Testament, then it is an abomination in the New Testament."  If you understand there is a difference between law and grace you would answer the above question in the negative.  What does our apostle for the dispensation of grace write under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit about diet?  Answer, 1 Timothy 4:4 states, "For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving." I am not in trouble, for the Bible says I can eat meat that was labeled unclean and abominable under the law!  There is a difference between Law and Grace no matter what some preacher or teacher may say.
